There are many people who are gardeners at heart but are severly confined by the fact that in urban areas most families do not have access to land. Some are privilegded enough to have a postage stamp sized patch at the front or back of their yard .Some live on the higher floors in flats thus the only soil they have access to is in the flower pot.At Kwanzira we teach families how to grow food even in the 13th floor apartment. We also enjoy to see the happy surprise families with tiny patches of land exhibit when that tiny patch they thought was useless starts producing organic food for the table. Contact us to find out when our next course on growing organic food in a confined space is starting.

Last week we hosted 11 women and one man from the Limpopo Providence in South Africa to participate in a water management and harvesting workshop as one of three training regiments for this select group. The practicals included building a swale, constructing a miniature gray water recycling system, and constructing an 11,000 L ferro cement water tank! Wow these ladies (and gentleman) sure worked hard and sang beautifully! Click here for some photos of the training.
