Who are we?

UKUVUNA is an internationally recognised organisation dedicated to the implementation of optimised sustainable projects within communities in Southern Africa through the promotion of permaculture. It was established in March 2005 in response  to the demand of Southern African communities, both urban and rural, for sustainable livelihoods.

UKUVUNA is an independent company registered as Urban Farming project cc (close corporation) in South Africa. We are based in Midrand, in the outskirt of Johannesburg, and operate mostly in the whole Southern African region, but also beyond in the whole of Africa.

What do we do?

We provide quality training, assistance and networking in permaculture garden/lanscape design to facilitate the establishment of self-managed permaculture nodes throughout Southern Africa as a basis for sustainable lifestyles, self-help job creation and poverty alleviation that are needed for a full and swift socio-economic and ecological recovery.

Our business is result-driven and affirms a commitment to work with a multitude of organisations, individuals and learning institutes.
